Elina Crespi

Elina is a multidisciplinary artist. She creates whole worlds from scratch so that you can play on different devices and consoles. Moreover, she brings organico-human creatures to life. At l’Abri, Elina would like to get a foothold in performance art. Passionate about mountains, she navigates climbing routes – both indoors and outdoors.
Elina Crespi is a visual artist and media designer of Franco-Japanese origin. A 2023 graduate of ECAL in Media & Interaction Design, she collaborates with studios and artists across French-speaking Switzerland in the fields of video games, performance, and visual communication.
Her distinctive practice explores the intersections of drawing, animation, 3D, and programming. Inspired by dreamscapes and fantastic creatures, she creates poetic and uncanny worlds where a line of a drawing becomes a living substance. She is particularly interested in movement and the organic qualities of drawing, as seen in the VR music video La Page Blanche, presented at the GIFF in 2022.
Her installations include Metamorphoses, highlighted at the 2024 Swiss Design Awards, which questions the relationship between humans and machines. Continuing this line of research, she is currently developing Cybermorphic, a video game project dedicated to hybrid creatures and cyborg figures, as part of Pro Helvetia’s She Got Game program.
Elina also pursues performative research with musician and performer Lucie Göckel. Together, they explore themes such as cognitive dissonance through setups that interweave sound, image, and gesture.
